How to get to Oristano

Oristano is equidistant with respect to the main airports and ports of Sardinia; Cagliari the main city of Sardinia is less than an hour away by car / bus / train. The Cagliari airport (CAG) is 90 km away and the center of Cagliari and the main port are 95 km from Oristano. Alghero Airport (AHO) is about 150 Km away and Olbia Airport (OLB) 175 Km.

The port of Cagliari is connected by ferries to Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Palermo and Trapani. Oristano is located 143 km from the port of Porto Torres (Civitavecchia / Rome, Genoa) and 182 km from the port of Olbia (Civitavecchia / Rome, Genoa, Piombino, Livorno).

Cagliari Airport (Elmas) is the easiest to reach and is 90 km from Oristano. It is well connected to the Italian peninsula with national and international flights, also through several low cost airlines. The train station is just outside the terminal and you can buy a ticket on the spot (about 1 hour by train with an approximate cost of 7 €).

How to get there by car

From North Sardinia (both from Sassari / Alghero and from Olbia / Nuoro) you arrive at Oristano along the 131. To enter the city take the “Oristano Nord” junction at about 110 Km and continue following the signs for “Oristano” .

From South Sardinia
Arriving in southern Sardinia (Cagliari), follow the national road 131 to the “Oristano Sud” junction, pass the Santa Giusta town towards Oristano.

Alternatively, you can take the junction (on the state highway 131) in the direction of Simaxis / Oristano, follow the signs for Oristano / sea.
